Great Big Green Week – A time to reflect and unite.

Posted 13/06/2025 by Laura Whittingham

As we’re nearing the end of Great Big Green Week 2025, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the packaging regulatory developments in 2025 so far, and on how your business is keeping on top of them.

I’d like to concentrate on the US if I may. From Trump’s tariffs, to the influx of newly approved Extended Responsibility Bills in Maryland, Washington and most recently New York, it’s fair to say we’ve seen a lot of activity and conversation being generated in the US packaging space this year already.

This has of course kept us on our toes at Aura, where keeping our clients abreast of the ever-evolving world of packaging legislation is a daily occurrence and something that is certainly becoming more complex with each passing month, week and even day.

As well as the introduction of new US packaging regulations, 2025 has also seen several significant milestones re reporting and financial obligations in states such as Oregon, California, and Colorado. The lack of packaging regulation at a federal level has created a patchwork of State-level regulations for producers to navigate, with regulations shifting in complexity and pace on a daily basis.

And believe me, keeping up with this shift is no mean feat, but something we’re experts in at Aura!

As keeping up to date with the rapidly changing world of packaging regulation is an increasingly complex and time-consuming mission, we know our clients find their partnership with Aura invaluable. By providing our clients with a clear understanding of current and future packaging regulations, (which is just one of the breadth of services we offer), we also illuminate future opportunities, by arming them with the knowledge they need to make informed and accurate decisions- enabling them to stand out amongst their competitors.

Great Big Green Week is the perfect time to reflect on your business’s responsibilities and contribution to the sustainability of our planet. However, it’s not a journey that needs to be walked alone. Myself and my colleagues at Aura take such pride in having the opportunity to collaborate with businesses of all shapes and sizes, because we’re passionate about helping you to navigate and excel in the sustainable packaging space.

So, if you think we could add value to your business, please do get in touch, we’d be thrilled to help.
