Challenge.
Spectrum Brands enlisted Aura’s Insights consultancy team to conduct a detailed market and competitor review.
This activity would focus on understanding key retailer sustainability targets, policies and awareness. We also explored the current regulatory packaging landscape in the main international markets.
Solution.
To tackle this challenge Aura assessed:
Key patterns of emerging consumer trends alongside any drivers specific to purchases, themes and product innovation.
The Aura consulting team provided a brand mapping exercise to demonstrate residual, dominant and emerging shifts to identify opportunities.
Aura also conducted a regulatory packaging review for international markets and a detailed key retailer analysis. To include requirements for individual country legislation such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) frameworks and fee structures, eco-modulation fees, plastic and packaging taxes, as well as material restrictions and bans.
Benefit.
- We provided Spectrum Brands with a comprehensive list of recommendations to enable the business to steer in the right direction going forward.
- In addition, we presented a detailed view of key retailers’ sustainability credentials, policies and commitments as well as alignment recommendations to allow Spectrum Brands to position itself alongside the leaders in the pack.
Impact.
Spectrum Brands has a five-year packaging roadmap in place, cementing its position as a market leader.
We now have a 5 year packaging plan in place to position ourselves as market leaders
