To lesser known pioneers such as Captain Charles Moore, who discovered the devastating effects of ocean pollution – Great Pacific Garbage Patch (GPGP), Shilpi Chhotray, who focuses her efforts on raising awareness of plastic pollution and Freya Williams, who has supported many businesses achieve their quest to be both profitable and a force for social good.
Let’s not forget Dame Ellen McArthur, not only known for her sailing prowess but also one of the greatest packaging sustainability influencers of our generation. Ellen has changed how many people view packaging, her foundation has influenced legislation and policy and she continues to champion a circular economy.
We continue to hear the negatives about sustainability, pollution and climate change for very good reason – we need to make a bigger difference. However, just for a short time let’s recognize the momentous efforts people have made, and continue to make, to positively impact on our lives and on our planet.
